Michelle Hass, MA, CCC-SLP, L/BCBA, M.Ed.
Speech Language Pathologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Autism Specialist
Michelle Hass graduated in 2000 from the University of Kansas with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology and immediately began working in a local school district as a school based SLP for children preschool through high school.  She quickly discovered an additional passion for working with children on the autism spectrum and returned to KU to get her masters in Special Education/Autism in 2005, shortly before the birth of her first son.  
 
Around this same time, she began working privately for children seeking additional services in the home setting and discovered the joy in working with families in this more intimate environments.  Her experience in the schools,along with being a mother of now three young children, helped prepared her for assisting families work through the day to day struggles of helping children with communication and behavioral challenges. 
 
After working primarily as an SLP for 12 years, MIchelle took a position as an Autism/Behavior Specialist at another local school district's early education center.  It was then that she continued to expand her behavioral knowledge base and completed her certification and licensure as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  Michelle has extensive knowledge in EIBI (Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention) and has both attended and provided years of training on Applied Behavior Analysis, Verbal Behavior, Positive Behavior Supports, Discrete Trial Intervention, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behavior Management and Supports in the Home and Classroom Setting,  Natural Environment Teaching, Functional Communication Training and much, much more!  
 
Michelle has most recently been working as an in-home provider for young children and families addressing communication, behavior, social and play skills.  She has provided training for families, providers and educators using evidence based, best practices and enjoys collaborating with families, educators and other providers to best meet the needs of every child.
 
Michelle is a proud wife and mother of 3 young children who not only keep her busy, but allow her to appreciate the perspective of busy, working families and the extra joys and sometimes challenges that come with them!  She grew up in the Kansas City area and comes from a family of educators and allied health providers.  She believes that every child deserves to be heard and happy and is committed to helping yours do so!
